Blend, mix or roll- 5 ways to make healthy food fun

As parents, everyone will agree that the toughest part of a day is to make your child finish their meals. That can be quite a task for the day, we understand. That’s why we have compiled a list of different ways to make it more interesting for your kids. So roll up your sleeves, get those cute plates and spoons out. It’s time your kid eats healthy with a sprinkle of fun.

1. Bite-sized excitement

Nugget sized food is always fun! So say many dieticians. Using different moulds or even your ice tray, shape up different food items that not only spark their creativity but also fill their stomach. We suggest to not feed your kids bigger portions as it might make them averse to eating those items. That is why it is advisable to use smaller plates for your kids. It helps them eat better.

2. Roll ‘em up

Dieticians agree that kids respond positively to food that is rolled up. It is easy to prepare and with a variety of combinations, you can almost never go wrong. Most kids may not like to eat certain vegetables like peas or carrots. Well now, you can put these vegetables in curry and roll it up in a roti. Some of the combinations can be paneer with peas and potato, broccoli with cheese. We are sure your kid will love it!

3. Batter up together

Previously, many parents would not allow their children into the kitchen. Now, things are different. Parents have now started including their kids while they are preparing food. Many kids also, for example, love to bake. It can be a route to start their love for healthy food. In time, your child’s inquisitiveness in the kitchen will help increase their appetite.

4. Smoothie it down

Make your trusty blender your kid’s friend in the kitchen. Whip up fresh fruit smoothies or shakes. Pick anything that they love- peaches, bananas, pineapple or even watermelon- and help them blend it with ice, yoghurt, low-fat milk or just natural juice. Have fun testing different combos with your kids and find the perfect one.

5. Change of scene

Sometimes, the fun while eating is found in its scenery. On weekends, it would be a good idea to perhaps set a picnic table in the garden and have a wholesome meal with your kids under the clear blue sky. Another way is to have fun theatricals while eating. Maybe have a royal theme and dress your kids like royalty during lunch or dinner? We are sure your kids will have a memorable time while eating.
