Bangalore, 2nd March 2017: Embassy Office Parks has announced the 8th edition of Contours Women’s Day Run to be held at Embassy Manyata Business Park, Nagvara, Bangalore on Sunday, 5th March 2017. Having successfully completed seven race editions, the 8th edition of the run is back with its objective to raise awareness and empower children in need. Over 3000 participants from all the previous editions have left behind a wonderful legacy of helping those most in need by running with their heart first.
The Run is organized to raise adequate funds in aid of the children at Shristi Special Academy to help get them to school. Moreover, it is being held not just to celebrate International Women’s Day but also to make fitness enjoyable. It is open to both women and men and will feature two categories, 10K and 5K Run.
There are rewards for every participant. Every runner gets a timing chip, a medal, free photograph, and discount on cab rides etc. Giving health and fitness the priority, healthy refreshments post the run will also be provided to all participants.
Commenting about the event, Mike Holland, CEO, Embassy Office Parks said, “Last year, the Run was held at Embassy Golf Links and we are glad to host it at Embassy Manyata Business Park this time. We believe in diversity and women empowerment and always have been supporting the cause of women. This event has also given us an opportunity to bring together our business park communities on such a day where we are honoring women all over the country. The most delightful feeling is that we are helping the children of the Shristi Special Academy get their basic right, the right to education.”
“Running has taught me that nothing is impossible or unattainable. All you need is a pair of shoes and a little courage. I’ve gone from running 10K’s to ultra-marathons of over 140 Kms. Running has changed my life and I want to share this joy with other women. This inspired me to start Contours Women’s Day Run. This event, over 8 years, has encouraged thousands of women and men to get into running and fitness. I hope it’ll help get more women excited about running and more involved in their health and fitness,” explained Ms. Chandra Gopalan, Director, Contours India and a veteran marathoner.
